BATU PAHAT (08/12/2016) : A 37-year old lorry driver is facing a maximum of 20 years in jail after he was charged at the Sessions Court here with the attempted murder of his wife last month.
Izaki Mohamed Taib was accused of trying to kill his wife Nursuhana Misni, 22, by strangulation with a nylon string at the car park of a shopping mall between 7.35pm and 7.45pm on Nov 28.
Izaki, who was arrested on Nov 30, is charged under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mustaqim Sukarno appeared for the prosecutor while the accused was not represented.
Sessions Court judge Amran Jantan did not grant any bail to the accused and fix Dec 21 for mention.
