Man arrested for raping 14-year-old WeChat girlfriend

(17/12/2016) KUALA LUMPUR: A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his WeChat girlfriend.

When they first met through the app earlier this year, the man had lied to the 14-year-old victim saying that he was 19 years old.

Police said the victim had claimed that the man forced her to have sexual intercourse with him by threatening to distribute her naked photo if she did not comply.

It was only after she discovered that she was seven months pregnant and urged by her doctor to lodge a police report that she finally did so on Nov 26.

Sungai Buloh police chief Superintendent Dr Abdul Aziz Awang Darus said they have since managed to track down the man.

The suspect was arrested yesterday at his house in Paya Jaras.

“He has admitted to having his first sexual intercourse with the victim in a Perodua MyVi and another time in a lorry at a car park in Damansara Uptown.

“The victim discovered she was pregnant in August after her monthly period was delayed,” Aziz said, adding that the suspect had also just got married last year.

Aziz said the unemployed suspect has been remanded under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape until next Tuesday.
